Who we are

What we collect
We collect only what a form asks for, plus a small amount of technical data every web server records.
Membership application. Company name, address, postal code, city, country, telephone, fax, website, company type and description; contact first and last name, function, email, telephone and fax; invoicing name, telephone, email, address, city and country; the membership tier applied for, the area of interest and the payment preference.
Contact form. Name, email address and your message.
Newsletter. Email address.
Member accounts. Name, email address, job title, company, telephone and country.
Collected automatically. IP address, browser user agent and referring page, recorded with a form submission for spam defence and site security.
Why we use it
- Processing membership applications: to assess an application and to invoice a successful one. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a membership agreement.
- Answering enquiries: to reply to a message you send us.
- Sending the newsletter: on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every issue.
- Site security and spam prevention: our legitimate interest in keeping the site usable and our forms free of abuse.
- Analytics: only if you have accepted analytics cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions: 24 months, then automatically purged.
- IP addresses are purged with the submission they belong to.
- Administrative activity records: 12 months, or 24 months where the record relates to a security event.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Member account data is kept for as long as the membership is active, and afterwards only where we must keep it for accounting or legal reasons.
Who else processes it
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- Mailchimp: newsletter delivery, for subscribers only.
- Google Analytics: website statistics, only after you accept analytics cookies. IP addresses are anonymised.
- Cloudflare: content delivery and protection against attack traffic.
- Our hosting and email providers: to run the site and to send the messages you ask for.
International transfers
The processors listed above operate internationally, so your data may be processed outside the country you are in, including outside the United Arab Emirates and outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those processors offer under their own data-protection terms.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to another provider. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of our legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent (the newsletter, and analytics cookies), you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
