Mexican govt awards Prysmian USD38m broadband contract

Mexico’s Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) has awarded Italian vendor Prysmian Group a USD38 million cable supply contract for its ‘Proyecto de Conectividad Fibra Optica Red Electrica Inteligente’ initiative,

which will see the state-backed utility firm extend broadband services to remote regions of the country. The agreement covers around 14,900km of cable, with local reports noting that the network will connect a total of 52 Mexican towns and cities.
