Engineer Ahmed Mekky has been appointed to lead Fiber Optic Connect Council MENA

 

Fiber Connect Council MENA has announced the election of Eng.Ahmed Mekky, Chairman and CEO of Benya Group, as the Chairman of the Council for the next two years, after being chosen by the members of the Council's recently held General Assembly.

The Fiber Optic Council for the Middle East and North Africa includes a group of regional and international leaders in the field of infrastructure and fiber cables in the Middle East and North Africa region. UAE, Aouf Al Balushi from the Omani Broadband Company, Gavin Fowles from the Indian company Sterlite, Hamza Al Qamoush from Corning International, Mohammed Al Ghazali from CommScope International, and Dr. Suleiman Al Hadithi from the Middle East Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturing Company in Saudi Arabia.


Engineer Ahmed Mekky, accompanied by the new council members, will work on setting the main axes that guarantee accelerating the adoption of optical fibers by those responsible for infrastructure projects in various sectors, and dedicating efforts to provide high-speed networks that are built based on fiber cables in order to connect them to consumers and companies.

Ahmed Mekky, for this position, as he is the first Egyptian in the field of information and communication technology to be elected by the General Assembly of the Fiber Optic Council for the Middle East and North Africa, a great honor that enhances Benya Group’s vision towards accelerating digital transformation in Egypt and the region Middle East and North Africa.
