Behind every smart solution, there is a fiber story.

Whether it’s AI innovation labs, digital twins, autonomous and electric mobility, smart tourism, or net-zero buildings, the common denominator is always the same: reliable, high-capacity fiber networks that move data securely, quickly, and at scale.

As Chair of the Smart City Committee, my focus for the coming period is to:

• Position fiber as core digital public infrastructure, not just a telecom asset.
• Promote neutral-host and shared infrastructure models that make city-scale connectivity more efficient and investable.
• Encourage cities and giga-projects in MENA to align smart solutions with open standards, strong governance, and citizen-centric outcomes.

I invite regulators, city leaders, operators, and solution providers to work with us through Fiber Connect Council MENA to turn these insights into replicable, scalable frameworks for the region.
