In a new milestone that adds to its record of technological achievements, Oman Broadband Company, represented by its Information Technology Department, has won the “Data Security and Privacy Protection Award”, presented by LinkShadow, a global leader in cybersecurity and threat intelligence.
The recognition was announced during the official ceremony organized by LinkShadow, where the IT Department received the award in the Data Security category for its outstanding efforts in safeguarding and managing the company’s sensitive corporate data, and for implementing best practices and international standards in information governance and security compliance.
The LinkShadow Award is among the most prestigious international honors granted to organizations that demonstrate exceptional performance in data protection, privacy management, and cybersecurity. The selection process is based on precise criteria including data governance, adherence to security standards, and excellence in managing information privacy.
On this occasion, Eng. Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband, expressed his pride in this achievement, emphasizing that it reflects the company’s steadfast commitment to applying the highest standards of security and information governance. He said:
“We are proud of this international recognition, which highlights the efficiency of our teams and their continuous efforts to enhance the company’s readiness in data protection and privacy. This award reaffirms our full compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) and strengthens Oman Broadband’s position as a leading player in the telecommunications and technology sector in the Sultanate of Oman.”
Al-Wahaibi further affirmed that the company continues to invest in developing its high-speed fiber network and cybersecurity infrastructure to ensure the protection of data and customer privacy, supporting the Sultanate’s digital transformation objectives.
